Location Nottingham, United Kingdom
Introduction Laura is the founder of ecoescape. After completing a degree in languages at Nottingham University and a stint living and working in France and Russia, Laura settled into a career in travel and tourism. She worked for the destination marketing organisation for Nottinghamshire and continued in a PR role at East Midlands Tourism in 2006. While getting to know the local delicacies and spending some time at the Lincolnshire Eco-Lodge, Laura decided that sustainable travel in the UK needed a lot of plugging. Filling a gap in the travel guide market, Laura published the first edition of ecoescape in 2007 with the help of some Big Lottery Funding. ecoescape appeared in the Guardian, Times, BBC, among others. As well as editing ecoescape.org and writing new editions of the book, she now works with Green Guide as travel editor and loves bringing together her two favourite things; writing and travel. When she’s not on a train or at her computer, Laura is most likely to be seen on her much-loved bicycle. Laura is also a founding member of the Commission for Social Youth Enterprise. www.ecoescape.org.
Interests writing, cycling, thinking, travel and music in various combinations.
