| Introduction | I am a G.R.I.T.S, Louisiana born and grown mother, wife, artist and teacher. My days are full, my nights are restless and I wish there were more hours in the day. I started drawing as soon as I could hold a crayon in my hand. My first canvas painting was a landscape that I created at the age of 13. With the help and support from family, I attended the Louisiana School for Math, Science and the Arts my junior and senior years of high school. There I was able to fully delve into a variety of media. I learned to take my artwork seriously and honed my skills. I graduated from Louisiana State University in Secondary Art Education for my love of art and of teaching others. My experiences in art classes at LSU taught me many things about being an artist. However, most of my discoveries have come from independent study and practice. My teaching experience has been varied and challenging. From teaching all grades (preK-12th) at a private school to teaching from a cart, I have learned to be adaptable and evolve with every situation. My newest challenge is teaching art online. |
