| Introduction | Exploring my Place in this Whirl we call life on our spinning planet. I mostly blog about Developmental Trauma and the paradigm shift of therapeutic/connected parenting. Other passions that will spill over here are anti-racism, flipping the script on foster care and adoption, and the self awareness my children have changed my life ultimately for the better with. Occasionally I may blog about something else that makes me me such as loving vegetarian Indian food, my amazing feminist husband and best friend of 11 years, my journey from devout Christian cult missionary to atheist humanist, my fourth child Pup-Pup and All the Other Things, not necessarily in that order. |
| Interests | Just your average atheist humanist, progressive, anti-racist, feminist, LGBT ally, mostly vegetarian, coffee-addicted, happily married for over a decade, trans-racial adoptive special needs full-time parent. |
| Favorite books | The Connected Child by Karin Purvis, Ph.D and David Cross, Ph.D; Parenting from the Inside Out by Dan Siegel, MD; the Boy Who Was Raised a Dog by Bruce Perry, MD; Between the World and Me by Ta-Nehisi Coats; Love Me, Feed Me: the Adoptive Parent's Guide to Ending the Worry About Weight, Picky Eating, Power Struggles and More; Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear by Elizabeth Gilbert. |
Whoops! Your tongue is now a magnet. Whatever will you use for silverware?
