Introduction Born in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1944, I moved to Portland, Oregon in 1965, where I taught school, then practiced law, then sat on the bench in Juvenile Court presiding for fourteen years, primarily over child abuse and neglect cases, and juvenile delinquency cases. I then served as the Chief Judge for the Confederated Tribes of Grande Ronde for seven years. After retirement I returned to Utah, where I tutored and substitute taught at Rowland Hall-St. Marks School for seven years, I graduated from the low-residence Masters of Fine Arts in Creative Writing program at Goddard College in 2008.I finally finished and self-published on Amazon.com my manuscript - Salvation - a Judge's Memoir of a Mormon Childhood. I am working now on a second memoir, tentatively titled The Lavender Shingle.
