Introduction Art has always been a part of my life.

When I lived in France as a college student, I enjoyed more exposure to great artists. In particular, I'm influenced by the works of Henri Matisse, Paul Gauguin, Pierre Bonnard, as well as the German expressionist Gabrielle Munter seemed to jive with the way I saw the world. I studied these artists and others and tried to see their original work whenever possible.

I hadn’t thought of practicing painting until after relocating to the Southwest, following a career as owner of a public relations firm in Florida. That’s when my art masters began to talk to me, and my previous experiences in France coalesced to inspire ideas for paintings.

My work reflects the influence of the post-impressionist and fauvist artists. The contemporary landscapes and interior vignettes that I paint focus on strong hues and interesting shapes. I strive to create a certain mood – a place where I’d like to be - as well as an element of play in these works.

My best models are my dog Cleo and other four-legged friends who find their way into scenes.

Wilde Meyer Gallery began representing my art in 2004.
