| Introduction | Hi everyone, I am an adoptee. Adopted at birth. I know nothing of my birth parents it was a closed adoption (like all adoptions in India), it is extremely painful. The way things are here in India, I doubt I will ever get a reunion with my birth family. I am 17 years old now, I am an Indian and I live in India. It's is getting tough for me to cope, that's why I started this blog, so I could talk about my story and feelings, you guys are welcome to do the same, I want to know how you have dealt with this issue. I invite you all to share your stories, I am genuinely interested in what your experiences have been. Please do comment and feel free to 'follow' me. And, no. I am not grateful. We adoptees feel like 'abductees' rather than 'adoptees', we feel like 'adapted' people, rather than 'adopted' people. Being adopted into a 'good' family isn't a perfectly scripted 'happily ever after' for us - we have feelings too! |
