Introduction	I've a daughter in college and one in high school, and my wife travels a lot for work. I'm the (modestly) dutiful housewife who yet brings a touch of male bad taste to our furnishings, and male good sense to our arrangements. (I don't know what that means, but the trope was irresistible!) I was born in Minnesota, though left soon after. But like another, more famous, Minnesotan, I find most things in my life to be "good enough" without a lot of fuss. This leaves me time to be perfectionist -- or odd -- in a few small ways.
Interests	Considerably fewer than I used to have. I still like Web programming and reading good fiction.
Favorite movies	The Dresser, Godfather I & II, Platoon, Dumbo, Branagh's Hamlet, Paul Newman's films, Elizabeth, Mrs. Brown, Enemy at the Gates , The Wire, Man for All Seasons, Shakespeare in Love, Beckett, Lion in Winter, loads of others in no particular order of preference that I'll think of later.
Favorite music	The Great American Songbook, swing, acoustic folk and blues.
Favorite books	(Books I liked a lot), Pilgrim at Tinker Creek, Battle Cry of Freedom, The Accidental Tourist, The Shipping News, Sand County Almanac, The Star Thrower, The Way of Zen, Darwin's Century, Yeats, Frost, Moby Dick, Deirdre(by Stephens), The World of Odysseus, The Demon Princes, The Moral Animal, ... (I could go on and on, but instead just see my amazon reviews.)
