| Introduction | I know the Lord....and the Lord knows me. That has been the central truth of my life since I received Him at the age of 10. I can say with Israel in Ps 129: "Many a time they have afflicted me from my youth; Yet they have not prevailed against me. The plowers plowed on my back; They made their furrows long. The LORD is righteous; He has cut in pieces the cords of the wicked." I have made my way through wilderness, swamp, entangling bush, desert and fire but when I look back I see His sweet mercies everywhere along the trail. And all around me now I see grace. My wife and I have been married for 31 years and still love each other, we have 3 adult children in whom we are well-pleased, and life is still just as much an adventure as it was when I was 18 and the world was fresh and green. |
