Introduction | Greetings! My name is Janet and I work as a sr. communications specialist with the Marketing & Communications department at the University of Illinois Foundation. I also worked for a couple of years as the recruiting/training coordinator for the National Center for Supercomputing Applications at the University of Illinois. Before that, I worked in the for-profit sector, in various organization types, including retail, broadcasting, risk management, distribution, and web development. I consider myself a business generalist, specializing in marketing, operations, training, and human resources. I enjoy jobs that have diverse responsibilities. I earned an M.S. degree from Eastern Illinois University in Human Resource Development/Technology, and a B.S., also from EIU, in Business/Occupational Education. I'm a long-time resident of the Midwest, where my husband and I live. I enjoy mysteries, both in books and movies, as well as sci-fi. I love gardening and some of my happiest days are spent digging in the dirt and figuring out just where the next plant should go. |
