| Introduction | I grew up in West Jordan, UT. I went to West Jordan Elementary, West Jordan Middle, and West Jordan High. I started teaching at age 14 as a Cub Scout Camp Counselor and I have been teaching ever since. I have taught dance to kids from ages 3 to 65. I have taught in 2 districts' elementary afterschool programs. I volunteered for 2 years at Utah’s Hogle Zoo as a Docent. I taught in daycare. And finally, I was a substitute teacher in Alpine and Granite School Districts teaching Kindergarten to High School. I really do love to teach!
Another interest I have is learning foreign languages. I speak English and Portuguese. I used to speak 2 forms of an African-Portuguese Creole used in Cape Verde, Africa but for the last 8 years I have only been able to speak that language to my sister’s cat since I don’t know anyone else that speaks it. I may or may not still speak it correctly since it is not a written language. I speak Mandarin Chinese on a beginner level. I understand a lot of Spanish because of the Portuguese. And finally, I studied German in High School so on a good day I can remember a little. In other words, I am not good but it is a lot of fun. |
