| Introduction | After working as an Art Director for 7 years for two different trade magazines, he relocated to San Francisco to pursue an MFA in Photography. While earning his MFA at San Francisco’s Academy of Art, Andre focused on developing and honing a photojournalistic eye. During his final year of school he was mentored in a one-on-one environment with many photographic greats including Ed Kashi and Jim Nachtwey, who helped to put the polish on his skills. His work has appeared in many different publications including: the Wall Street Journal, People Magazine, CMYK Magazine, Beauty Store Business, Information Magazine, Digital Photographer Magazine, 180 Magazine and the online publications zREPORTAGE, VR Magazine, and Snapixel Magazine. Andre has earned numerous industry accolades, including a bronze in documentary photography at the 63rd Annual College Photographer of the Year Awards, 2008, Award of Excellence at the 64th Annual College Photographer of the Year Awards, 2009, and was invited to participate in the Eddie Adams Workshop, the premiere photojournalism workshop in the country for students.
