| Introduction | Working in and with schools has been a part of my life since I first began teaching third and fourth grades at a five room rural classroom in central Wisconsin in 1973. Since then, I have worked in educational settings in four states (public and parochial schools); was privileged to be a classroom teacher in rural, urban, and ENL settings; explored technology through various grants and opportunities with Apple Computer, Google, TN Dept. of Education, and ISTE; directed a districtwide educational technology staff development site (formerly an ACOT - Apple Classroom of Tomorrow Teacher Development site); assisted in development of online assessment; wrote curriculum and evaluated standards on state & national levels; facilitated staff development and training of preservice teachers at three universities; and currently work at the university level at the University of Notre Dame with educational initiatives in technology, M.Ed. for ACE, VTS - Visual Thinking Strategies, and service learning seminars on educational topics. |
