Introduction	I contracted polio when I was 2 years old. I have fought the designation 'disabled' ever since. I have always believed that if you could do it I could do it also (it may just take me a bit longer). One of the hardest battles I have fought was trying to convince everyone else to believe that too. "I can't" was never allowed in my vocabulary. That is until the Post-Polio Syndrome came to visit. Now I have to laugh and quietly admit maybe, just maybe, there are a few can'ts in my life ... especially if this wheelchair wont fit through the door. When life hands you a bag of lemons or lands your butt in a wheelchair LAUGH. I love the sound of laughter, especialy my own.
