Interests After nearly quarter of a century (it seems a long time, anyway) of teaching Physics mostly (also Electronics for 8 years and Theology for 2-3 years), I now spend most of my time making music, whether performing, conducting, composing or arranging. This has been my passion all my life, but now I have much more time to devote to it! The bassoon has become my main instrument over the years, and I enjoy performing with many orchestras, mostly around the south-east of England. As choir director of my wife's Anglican church I spend quite a lot of time and energy helping to organise, prepare and perform the music in a variety of church services. I was previously (25 years ago) a Catholic priest, and I retain a particular interest in music within a church setting. Morley College, London (where Holst taught!) is currently providing some much-needed feedback and advice on composing. I also love building things, especially designing and constructing electronic circuits. In addition, I enjoy spending time in the garden; my wife is really the gardener - I simply do the odd jobs!
