| Introduction | JERRY WAYNE TAYLOR B.S. Art, M.A. Fine Art, Cumberland College and Miami University. From my earliest recollections, I have had a strong interest in art and music. I have always been creative. As much as I like music, my real passion is art; I am constantly inspired by the people and things around me. I work in most mediums but I prefer to paint in oils. I have been a teacher, an art director, and an artist. I have illustrated books, painted billboards, designed logos, created animations, silk-screened posters and T-shirts, built furniture, painted portraits, still-life, and landscapes, created graphics for television, and painted ceiling murals. Historical figures, musicians, craftspeople, and rural landscapes have been among my favorite subjects. I like showing people working with their hands or describing their lives through the expressions and wrinkles on their faces in close-up. I try to make my landscapes a place I would want to visit and my character's faces portray a person we would all like to know. |
