Introduction“The earth is the Lord’s and the fullness thereof” Psalms 24:1 The phrase from Psalms can be translated as “The Land (capital “L”) is God’s...” Although Torah is beyond boundaries and pertains to any Jew in any place, it is a self-evident fact that the study of Torah in Eretz Yisrael and about Eretz Yisrael is even more meaningful than studying outside the Land. This is due to the fact that Eretz Yisrael is the natural habitat for Jews and for Torah (see Kuzari 2:12). Many of the Divrei Torah were written, and continue to be written, in Eretz Yisrael, and concern the Land of Israel. For more than a decade, they have been primarily based on, and inspired by, the writings of my father, Rabbi Zvi Magence, who was deeply connected to the Land. In addition, as the gematriya (numeric equivalent) of this phrase equals my name: David ben Arye Zvi, Ha’Aretz U’Mloah is an appropriate title.
