IntroductionAs a visual artist, I have always percieved the creative process like one on a journey, trudging a long unpredictable road in the quest for identity and expression. I am also fascinated with faces. I believe they transcend the bland expressionless images we see in our passports, or trapped representations in photographs or even the TV screens. My recent photographic concepts focus on the complex issues of identity and relationships not only on a personal level but also from a much broader social perspective. In a sense it has defined my evolution as an artist. Hence I have employed this rather seeming stereotyped approach of either blurring the faces or taking off the heads altogether of the subjects in some of my photographs as a way of protesting against our growing insensitivity towards the issue of relationships and identity. In the course of executing my artworks I have discovered there is an important connection between identity and relationships. The way we perceive our individual selves, our environment, our respective society goes a long way to influence and define the way we relate with them.
