| Introduction | My name is Donna Fischer. I was married to Ron, since 1967 and lost him to bladder cancer in November of 2013. I have two children and 4 grandchildren. As of 2015, I am retired.. I am a breast cancer survivor. The name of my blog is Bunco for Breast Cancer Survivors because I was fortunate enough to attend a Casting for Recovery Retreat in 2003 and began raising monies through bunco for the group. I worked with this group for ten years. It is still a wonderful concept, however I have moved on in my endeavors. You cannot let Breast Cancer define you, but it does change a lot in your life and your future. In 2019 cancer came again, only this time it was Esophageal (esophagus and stomach) and it was a really bad one. Lots of tests, chemo, major surgery and radiation. I will never be the same, life had definitely changed. 2020 comes with a lot of changes for me. Coping with this health issue but also making a major move from Arizona to Illinois. March 2021, metastized esophageal cancer in the pancreas tail and spleen. Another surgery removing the tail, spleen and mass. A Third cancer experience. |
