| Introduction | I am a 50-something male who has decided to carry a concealed weapon to protect my loved ones. I grew up in the Midwest, and spent some time in the Marine Corp in the period between Vietnam and the 1st Gulf War. I was an electronics technician for a Marine squadron. After leaving the Corps, I attended college and have worked many different jobs. Currently I live in Texas. After spending most of my life in Illinois, for me guns were used for hunting. It is only after I moved to Texas that I understood that it was possible to have weapons that you use for self protection, both in your home and concealed while you were away from home. I attended and passed a Texas Concealed Handgun License class, and have my CHL from Texas to permit me to carry. I sunsequently attended and passed a class in Utah for a Concealed Firearm Permit, so I can now carry my weapon in some 38 states. |
