| Introduction | This is a blog that supports and adds to the materials found in the High Note 03 English Language course. The objective is to make the material more accessible to students and from one source - so audio / video / images and other resources can be accessed from this place. The other objective is to set a selection of the rich tapestry of regional treasures to be found in England before the student and to bring an element of realism - England is NOT about bobbies, red phone boxes and buses, smart school uniforms and debating clubs - as with every country it is much richer and deeper than that. Grittier too! People lose their jobs, homes, have sudden health problems and relationship issues, conflict with parents and authority - some of that needs to be seen. |

| Favorite movies | Films where the plotline has some interesting angle that makes me think. Also movies where I really don't have to think I just let it wash over my eyes. |

| Favorite books | I tend to change my mind a lot about favourite books - these days I spend a lot of time doing things so my idea of bliss is to switch off completely. |
