| Introduction | I am the happiest I have ever been in my entire life, after having clarified recently that I am in actual fact gay. I have had a marriage and a long term relationship both with wonderful men whom I have loved but have somehow always had an empty feeling about being with them. When you open your eyes underwater, do you ever worry that you'll drown?
What's that got to do with it? I thought I nearly drowned once when I was about 5 or 6. My cousin and I were swimming and were suddenly out of our depth. Our mums came and helped but I wondered if I'd still drown afterwards and wake up dead or something!
