| Introduction | My husband--henceforth known as Mr. Rhody--and I have been together since May 2004. We were married in September 2008 and immediately wanted to start a family. I got pregnant for the first time on our second cycle trying, only to lose the baby at 12 1/2 weeks. We waited one cycle as per doctor's orders, and were pregnant again the first cycle trying. This second pregnancy we lost at 9 1/2 weeks.
Tissue testing from the second pregnancy showed the baby to be chromosomally normal. Unfortunately, my testing came back with 2 blood clotting mutations--MTHFR and prothrombin. This means I have increased risks for forming blood clots, which can be a problem in pregnancy. Unfortunately, the seriousness and treatment options for these mutations is currently being debated. I am currently pregnant again, for the third time this year. This blog follows my emotional and phsyical progress as I move through this pregnancy. |
