Industry Communications or Media
Occupation Journalist/Media Specialist

Introduction I'm a Manhattan-based journalist, media watcher and ghostwriter. For most of my career I have been what used to be called "a newspaperman." Which these days is rather like saying, "I'm a cobbler." And although I am proud to be a semi-regular contributor to both the New York Times and USA TODAY, my focus these days is doing new business in a new way. And that's what this blog is about. How I got from there to here and wherever the hell I end up.
Interests The media, the arts and culture in all its forms. Environmental issues. Protecting children, The global community. And Yankees baseball.
Favorite Movies Far too many to mention. But I've spent literally YEARS of my life watching Turner Classic Movies (the older the better), IFC and the Sundance Channel.
Favorite Music The Beatles, U2, Bruce Springsteen, James Taylor, John Coltrane, Ramblin Jack Elliott, Eric Clapton, Green Day and just about everything to do with the blues. Old jazz is cool, spare me the opera.
Favorite Books Lots of Hemingway. Lots of books on Zen Buddhism. Biographies about people who made a difference and books on photography, architecture and The Civil War.

You've been invited to a fancy ball but the only thing you have to wear is an orange wooly jumper. What shoes do you wear?

How do we make it stop?
