Introduction My name is Brittnee Maxfield, and I am a girl who failed the mile in PE. I am a girl who doesn't like to go outside. And apparently, I am a girl who is going to run a marathon to help fight blood related cancers. Now that, I'm excited about! I have always wanted to participate in Team in Training, a super special program affiliated with the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society. This year, I decided it was time to stop wanting, and starting training. On October 18th, I am going to run the Nike Womens' Marathon in San Francisco, CA. I am completing this event in honor of my Kappa Alpha Theta sorority sister Rose Hennig, who had to put her college and sorority years on hold to fight her own battle against cancer. I've created this blog so I can share marathon with you. I'll try to update it each week, so you can see how my training is going, learn more about my honoree Rose, and find out some of the interesting things I am learning about running along the way. If anything, it should be good for a laugh as I realize just how far 26 miles actually is when you're on foot. So please, come back often, and when you're ready - make a donation to help find a cure!
