| Introduction | I am a writer with a love of horror and the occult, and a long time animal lover. My first love was horses. For as long as I can remember I've been obsessed with them. I have been lucky to have had several wonderful equine teachers and have explored several English disciplines. My very-close second love is dogs. I have been involved with them for the better part of twenty years. I started with Greyhounds and became peripherally involved with rescue. Since then I've worked in two kennels; one a multi-breed facility, the other belonging to a Doberman breeder, which ignited my passion for Dobes. I've been very fortunate in that I have been exposed to the philosophies and methods of several wonderful trainers. I have independently studied everything I could get my hands on and everyone I could get time with to educate myself about training, behavior and nutrition. I am currently working with my self-trained service dog, Murphy. I try to keep my subject matter on this blog varied, but I seem to find myself writing a lot about dogs. SO far, nobody seems to mind:-) |
