| Introduction | Emily Porter grew up in Milwaukee. She attended the Milwaukee Institute of Art and Design with a four year Milwaukee County Artistic Scholarship as well as the Guido Brink Scholarship. Porter studied abroad in Paris over the summer of 2011 and her art has been shown in local venues, D.C, Vermont and New York. She has also been published on the online publication Untitled Cereal, Fine Line Magazine Blog, PhotoWhoa, Fraction Magazine and The Swap. Porter's current work explores the experience of solitude and the awakening of the senses. Influenced by literature, the work reflects visual poetry and is inspired by the written word. |
