| Introduction | I joined the Army right out of high school and graduated from flight school in 1967. I served 2 tours in Viet Nam then got out of the service for 10 years after which I returned to the military in 1980. I flew for another 3 years before reclassification into the marine field in 1983. I graduated from Deck Officers School. I served as a ships captain on LCUs and Tug boats and harbor master for several years. I was a licensed Vessel Master for Open Ocean unlimited tonnage with a coast guard radar observers’ certificate by the time I retired. |
