| Introduction | We call each other Acro's. We are the few, the mighty.... our numbers are low, but our spirits are high! I was diagnosed with Acromegaly on February 24, 2016 and an MRI confirmed a pituitary brain tumor on March 6, 2016. Acromegaly is a rare disease that will stay with me for the rest of my life - though not terminal, it can be debilitating and intrusive. I believe it will make me stronger, and give me added purpose. Something over the past 2 years has been pulling me back to Michigan - and up until now, I know that it was the the Peapod in my head! So hear I am, close to family, with a great support system around me.. and being fortunate enough to be within 2-3 hours of one of the best pituitary centers in the states - University of Michigan. |
