| Introduction | We moved to Reston, VA in 1980 and have raised two children here. I am an Associate Broker with RE/MAX Premier and have been a Realtor since 1981. My husband, Mike Robinson, and I have traveled overland across central Asia and have trekked in the Himalayas. Mike had gone back for his 4th visit when he died of high altitude pulmonary edema in Leh, Ladakh, Sept. 4, 2007. "3 Cups of Tea" was the last book he read and sent home an e-mail saying what a great book it was. In honor of Mike's memory, we are raising $50,000 to help Greg Mortenson build another school in either Pakistan or Afghanistan. There are so many reasons this is a fitting tribute to Mike's memory: His love of the Himalayas and the many people we met there and traveling overland; Both Mike's parents were teachers; Ed was the Chair of the History Department at Bloomfield College in NJ; and Janet taught elementary school in Montclair, NJ; Mike was a firm believer in women's rights to an education and become what ever they desired. |
