Introduction | January 2010 sent me into semi retirement, my life is my family, some volunteer work and prison audits. Its a good life |
Interests | Had an epiphany of sorts regarding this blog this morning. Thanks to a man named Scott Henson, who's blog "Grits for Breakfast" will serve as a model, I am going to narrow the scope here to criminal justice issues. I will relate personal experiences and opinions for which I take full responsibility. I will also include references to articles and news stories and my reactions to them. I will concentrate on those states that I have served (Oklahoma, Connecticut. Colorado and Kentucky) and those areas where my ACA affiliation leads me. I do this, not because I feel that my opinions have any particular value or should be used as a basis for anyone's actions, but because it is a way to feel productive about all this idle time that I have. For the sake of ACA and any facility that I have the opportunity to audit, I MAY omit references to specific facilities and staff. I am excited about this attempt but also know myself well enough to know that motivations have given my retirement activities a roller coaster ride of sorts. |
