| Introduction | I grew up in Nebraska where about 92% of the land is used for farming. Moving west for college in Boulder, CO allowed me to develop my addiction for snowboarding as well as an interest in thinking critically about national and international issues. It was in France that my palate finally discovered its favorite place and every other picture in my photo album is that of food: hanging meat, exquisite desserts, crusty breads, vibrant fruits and vegetables. Returning to the United States and having the recency of food culture comparisons was a shock and disappointment to me. Why are portions so big in America? Why is everything processed for longer shelf-life and sold in bulk from warehouse stores? How and when will people start noticing? |

Why does the taste of pennies remind you of losing a tooth?
I don't know, but losing teeth reminds me of our first grade teacher that pulled students' loose teeth before we entered the lawsuit happy era.
