Introduction | My name is Jordan Goldstein. I am 23 years old and am currently attending UWO to pursue my MA in Public History. I received my BA in Honours Specialization History from UWO where I studied every kind of history from classical Greece and Rome to the domestic issues of 20th century America and everything in between. I enjoy looking at history as an all encompassing explanation for human behaviour and the evolution of civilizations. I enjoy major ideas like the impact of cultural exchange and diffusion between peoples across great geographies and time periods encompassing the transmission/dominance of ideas and technologies. I have primarily written papers on military history because to me warfare is the most encompassing, engaging and impactful collective human activity and a major facilitator in cultural evolution, definition and explanation. My interest in Public History lies in the ability to transmit large ideas and interpretations of history to the public at large. History should be an open ended discussion between experts, professionals and the public at large to ascertain the relevant interpretation of past events for their reflection upon our contemporary society. |
