OccupationRetired US Army Chief Warrant Officer 3
LocationMooringsport, Louisiana, United States
IntroductionI entered the US Army right out of high school and planned to serve my three years and then attend Louisiana TECH and obtain a degree in electrical engineering. Twenty one years later I retired from the US Army. I was a counterintelligence Special Agent and had some really interesting assignments in Okinawa, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, and many stateside locations. I served in Vietnam with the 1st Cavalry Division. I was the Chief of Police of the small village of Belcher, LA, for 12 years, an elected position. I then retired about 10 years ago and started growing LA irises and daylilies.
InterestsI am interested in military history, electronics, computers and my hobbies include HO trains, building bird houses and fishing. I grow LA irises, Spuria irises, iris virginica, Dutch irises and a limited number of Tall Bearded. We also grow over 400 varieties of daylilies. We are located in Northwest LA, near TX and AR, and are in zone 8.
Favorite moviesAny John Wayne movie will do. Especially love "She Wore A Yellow Ribbon" since it has John Wayne and the US Cavalry in the movie. Best Vietnam movie -- "We Were Soldiers", about the 1st Cav Div.
Favorite musicMostly country music, classical country music. Really like music by Burt Bacharach and "Hooked on Classics".
Favorite booksWide reading interest and read a lot of novels. Enjoy murder mysteries and "spy" novels. Really like reading Lee Child, Brad Thor, Jack Higgins and Tom Clancey.
