| Introduction | Bill and I met in Fiji while we were both traveling in September 1999. Bill had been sailing in the South Pacific since June of 08. He started his journey from San Diego, went to French Polynesia, Tonga, New Zealand and then Fiji. I had been backpacking in New Zealand since April of that year and flew to Fiji from there. After sailing around the Fijian Islands for weeks we went to Majuro, Marshall Island, where we got married in November 2000. During that year we went to the States, to Switzerland and back to Majuro all that by plane. Ben was born in Guam. When he was two months old Bill single-handed the boat (Thelma)from Guam back to San Diego. Ben & I flew to California to stay with Bill's mom. It took Bill 70 days at sea. After that we sold Thelma, went back to "normal" life and started thinking about our future land travels. |
