| Introduction | Although I didn’t know it at the time, the idea for this blog actually began 25 years ago, when my parents returned from a trip to the 50th state. Afterward, a medley of influences -- from Frank Sinatra to Chicago's Playboy Club to a curious interest in surfing to my first trip to Sin City on July 4th a decade ago -- made me who I am today. Everyone needs a good vice. Maybe two. I support smokers’ rights; there’s way too much “you’re free to believe what you want as long as you agree with me” in this country. By the way, I don’t invest in the markets. I prefer to do my gambling on a green felt table. |
