Introduction	After about 40 years in the food industry, I retired from it in 2009. I am currently in the process of publishing my first book. It is a cookbook for young people just getting started to cook for themselves and others. It should be available in early fall of 2011. Over 25 of the 40 years were spent managing dining services of colleges and universities in the Midwest. I also have experience in restaurants, both national chains and independents as well as a few years of operating my own. I am not a trained chef but have been cooking both professionally and personally for most of my life. I have worked with somewhere close to a dozen different chefs throughout my career. They all seem to have their own style and that has given me a wide range of experience with food.
