| Introduction | I'm a single mom of two incredible young men. Both of my sons have chosen to serve their country during a time when we are at war. My younger son is a Survival Instructor in the Air Force (SERE). He teaches his comrades to save their lives. My older son is a Marine. As I write this, he is five days away from deploying into a combat zone in Afghanistan. Me--I'm not that interesting. I've been alone since my husband of 20 years left us. Now, I get by from one day to the next, praying that God will protect my small family. I love the Lord and my sons. I love children and animals. And I love our military (and all those who put themselves in harms' way for the sake of others). I'm a writer at heart and formerly by profession. But my goal here is to establish a forum where all military moms can gather and share their ideas, hopes, fears--or just share a thought. We're all in this together, moms. No one can do what we can!! |
