| Introduction | I received my Bachelor of Arts degree from Ohio University, specializing in North American History. I can usually find something interesting in any field of history (whether it is North American or not), but my primary interests include the American Civil War, Native American history, Irish immigration, and late colonial America. "Mr. Flattery" is one of my first-person persona names from a local living history museum where I and my co-contributor "Mrs. Flattery" both work. At first Mrs. Flattery had to drag me into first-person interpretation as a temporary fill-in character, and even today I hesitate to consider myself a full-out first person-impressionist. However, the more I do first-person the more I realize it's potential to help people learn history in certain situations (and the more I find myself actually enjoying the acting side of my job). |
