| Introduction | I like to think that I am intelligent, resourceful and caring. I like to believe I am a loving mother, reliable friend and honest sibling. I try to remain true to the Goddess, and hold to her teachings. I want to think I am interesting and intriguing, though I would not be surprised to learn this is an ego thing. I write because I have to, catch babies because I love to, work with women because I believe they are important. I am awestruck by the power of birth, and so shocked that I am in such a privelliged position that I get to be part of that all the time. I am a sister, a daughter, a lover and a mother, a friend and a colleague, so much that I never knew was important. I am here to share my stories, my world, with those who are interested to read it. There is a focus on birth, but my writing is not exclusive to that area. I am me, I am woman, and I am claiming a right to speak: I hope some of you hang around to listen. |
