Introduction	Scott and I are the proud parents of Katie and Nicola, our four year old twin daughters. Katie was diagnosed with Doose Syndrome (MAE), shortly after her 3rd birthday in April 2008. Up until then, she had normal development, if not advanced (as any proud parent would say). In three months we were stunned with how quickly her seizures advanced. She was having primarily drop seizures that would cause injuries to her face and head, and then the full body drops were the worst. She then began having many more different types of seizures and not one of the four medicines could control them. Katie started the Ketogenic diet in July 2008. We were so fortunate to start the diet only three months after her diagnosis. We've had some ups and downs on the diet but we are now over seven months seizure free. You would never know that she ever had any seizures which is remarkable because there were times last year where she couldn't even walk without falling. We feel so lucky and hope every child has the chance to try the Ketogenic diet. It has been our miracle and we hope it is yours too.
