| Introduction | I started Lampworking when, after retiring from the communications industry, I found I needed a hobby to occupy my time! I discovered the addiction that is lampworking at the annual meeting of lampworkers at the Flame Off here in UK. I was shown how to make a basic bead, and after 3 hours of "playing" on various torches, I ended up buying a starter kit and the rest is history! I found I was making beads and other glass items and that I could only make so many and turn them into jewellery for my wife? So I had to have an outlet for my creations! So Red Dragon Lampwork was formed as a means to finance my hobby and turn it into a small business. The glass I use for jewellery comes mostly from Murano, but I also use glass from Germany, the Czech Republic, China and America. For the marbles I use Borosilicate glass or "Pyrex", which is the trade name most people will know it by, which comes from the USA.
