| Introduction | My name is Tim Tucker and besides what I have picked up in my past various careers, I'm new to the IT industry. My background is mainly with biomedical research, professional financial services and (off and on out of necessity) retail sales. My company is providing this wonderful opportunity to get a BS in the exciting field of cyber and data security - and I'm taking it! Fun fact: My first computer was a Commodore Vic-20. I taught myself a little BASIC and HTML here and there because there weren't many computer courses available for regular folk way back then. I was always behind the curve in PCs as my next was a monochrome portable IBM suitcase PC! I wish I had kept up the pace learning about software, but hindsight is 20/20. My goal is to graduate on time and knowledgeable enough to defend my company, my clients and my country against enemies seeking to do harm, I'm a knowledge sponge and a sharer. Let's go be prosperous together! This blog will focus on Network Security for the Financial Services Industry. |
