| Introduction | John Matlock is a second generation fine artist. Growing up in West Springfield Massachusetts John studied his father Thomas as he painted 46 years later John now paints in the same studio with that same easel applying the lessons he learned from his father. John studied art at Holyoke Community College and the University of Massachusetts concentrating in painting. His paintings of Marine life have sold across the country at juried outdoor art festivals, Galleries and to private collectors along with multiple corporate commissions and sales. John’s fine attention to detail, along with a vibrant, palette allow the viewer to actually step into the scene before them and become one with the painting and embracing the serenity of the underwater world which sometimes border on the surreal. John chooses Acrylic paints as his medium greener for the environment needing only soap and water to clean up. He hopes to reflect his concerns for the ever changing environment, polluted seas and water conservation through his art work to help preserve the above said for future generations to come. |
