Introduction | I'm a former stonemason who is a mad-keen player of Dungeons and Dragons and other table-top role-playing games who also happens to have a very rare type of dementia. I live in Somerset. In many ways I'm lucky. I have a pretty good social life, it's nice and quiet here, and I walk a dog called Tomos. I'm 55 and was diagnosed over 4 years ago. Dementia doesn't suddenly make you some helpless person in a wheelchair. It's a slow burn. I'm still me, though I'm a little more forgetful, a little more easily befuddled and I take a load of Sertraline to keep me tethered. I hope this blog can be of benefit to others in some way. |
