| Introduction | MIKE R. HUNTER has authored two short fiction collections: No Place Like Home (humour) and The Echo. Both are available from Amazon world wide, and a third book, a novella titled Ideas for Sale will be out in 2025. Mike retired as Editor-in-Chief of CBU Press. He has an MA in Communication and Culture from York and Ryerson (now Toronto Metropolitan) universities. A native of Riverview, NB, he has lived all over Canada; in Cape Breton since 1984, and associated with CBU since 1996. He was managing editor of a small-town newspaper, freelancer for the Chronicle Herald and others and published a few articles in academic presses. Some stories have been long- and shortlisted for various prizes and won Ed’s Books short fiction contest. Books are through KDP and both available in print and e-book available from Amazon and other on-line booksellers. Mike and families live in West Bay, Cape Breton, and Toronto. He has edited numerous non-fiction books for others, continues to write short fiction and is working on a novel. When not hunched over a manuscript, he may be found on the trails – hiking in summer, snowshoeing in winter – or having coffee and telling stories with the locals. |
