| Introduction | "About Me" is about my art. It is my sanity, my soul, my meditation and my Nirvana. This recent painting is my husband holding our new granddaughter. It was awarded First Place in a juried exhibit...a nice bit of validation to pass along to the family! I once read that "regardless of results or success, a true artist is one who jumps out of bed and shouts, Wow! Another day to paint"! When you give that much time, love, and energy to an endeavor -- no matter what it is -- the passion will show in your work and others will see it. Some artists just paint for money and when you see their work you know where their passion is. I always try to help when an artist asks. Once a lady came to my studio for help with a portrait. The image was warped, eyes askew, nose off center, etc. Finally, she said, "I don't even like portraits, I just want to make some money". I stood up and told her I was busy, couldn't be of help to her, and that our meeting was over. There was nothing I could do.
