Your bow is not broken but you've run out of arrows. How can you fake being a bard?

Easy. Tension the string differently, play it like a sitar or some such. Hide part of it in the crook of your arm. Play some simple melodies, using pythagorean lengths, preferably stopping the string with a coin, since that would provide the best resonant surface. If possible, attach a bottle or empty jar to create an extra resonant chamber.
