| Introduction | I grew up in a military family moving frequently living on both east and west coasts. I had the unique opportunity to travel to many interesting places in the world. I received my bachelor’s degree at Midwestern State University. I worked for a short period in the business world and later worked with children. In the summer of 1999 my husband and I moved to Decatur seeking a rural small town atmosphere to raise our children, Rachael, Daniel, and Michael. That fall, I walked into a brand new school, Carson Elementary and volunteered my services as a parent. I was later hired to teach Technology to Kindergarten through 4th grade as a Teachers’ Aide. I enjoyed teaching Technology to all of Carson’s kids for 5 years. In 2006, after gaining my Teaching Certificate, I was given the opportunity to teach First Grade. In 2013, I moved to 2nd grade. Teaching has been the most rewarding job I have ever had. I look forward to the bright young faces that come through my door everyday. |
