a statue of free-range nitrate-free bacon though covered in flies still stands to commemorate the time while leading the iditarod i stopped to feed my hungry malamutes pounds of bacon; this left us trailing teams we once led. my dogs were energized by the protein and fat that comes only from the pig; this energy was harnessed much like 14 sequential boosts of NOS for an engine! victory was ours!
