About me

Introduction Elizabeth is a junior in Computer Science at Carnegie Mellon University and double majoring in Mathematics. Outside of classes and research, Elizabeth is involved in Women@SCS - an organization devoted to encouraging women's participation in the field of Computer Science - and KGB - a social organization on campus.

She is one of the organizers of the Sisters program in Women@SCS which connects freshmen women in Computer Science with upperclassmen women as an informal mentoring program. Elizabeth has also helped with the Women@SCS Outreach Roadshow which is a program designed to help give high school and middle school students an introduction to the varied areas of computer science (not just programming) and to help students distinguish stereotypes about the field from reality.

Elizabeth has worked teaching computer science to students between the ages of 7 and 17 over past summers and has worked as a TA and grader for several CS and math courses. Last summer, she worked both independently and as a contractor developing iPhone applications.
